Home Server Build

I just recently acquired the Zotac ZBOXHD-ID34BR. So now that I have the HTPC all set up with a 750 gb drive and 4mb of ram I am ready to add the home server.

I put my order in today for a LIAN LI PC-Q08B case.

So my questions are what version of the Intel I3 should I get

memory and what to use for a power supply.

I will probably buy the parts over the next month.

Great show on BYOB I listen each week.

Thanks in advance for the help and suggestions.

Jack

The i3530 Clarkdale will work nicely but the RAM will be dependent upon the MOBO for that particular case. DDR3 will be a good place to start but again with that small case make sure you stay away from the sets with the high headers for heatsinks.

Here is my input:

Clardale I3-530 (if they put the 540 on sale then get that one)

Cooler Master PS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171036

G.Skill 1600 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277

Reasons. GSkill has had great compatibility with the XMP profile on most boards. The cooler master PS are the best price performance out there and are the best cable I have used to date for mid to small cases. Great match with any Lian-Li because of the drive mounting.

Thanks for the input. Do you think I could get by with a smaller power supply?

Also what motherboard seems to be the most popular now?
