Windows Phone Notification Center?

Lately I've heard complaints about the lack of a notification center for Windows Phone. I am dumbfounded over this. The whole home screen is one big notification center via live tiles. I am very curious to know, what notifications are missing from the live tiles? Please enlighten me.

Simply put, many people do not like change. We’ve grown

accustomed to IOS and Android’s powerful notification center/menu. There is

certainly something to say for the speed that one can sort through a long list

of notifications with this system. Now for someone like me who only gets a

handful of notifications a day, the bloated notification

center/toggles/whatever else is all in that dropdown is a little unnecessary. I

agree the start screen, along with the lock screen, is a perfectly capable way

to notify me of anything new. I’m in no way opposed to a notification center,

just saying I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary either.

If the whole idea of the home screen is not to need every app like iOS has there will be apps not on your home screen that can (should) receive notifications.  Right now there is no answer for that.  I don't think WP needs a replica of the iOS/Android system, but something has to be in there.  I still say it would fit perfectly to the left of our homescreen.  If you swipe right now you get a list of apps, so if you swipe left a nice list of "history of toasts" would be perfect.

Only Facebook and Twitter notifications (toasts) show up in Me tile.  Lets say it is a new podcast available or a notification from Foursquare, there are a ton of apps that send notifications that don't show up in the Me tile.  The Me tile could be a great place to store the history (notification center) if all apps had access to it.
