Always On Hoopla

Recommended Posts

Is anyone here at all upset or discouraged at all the hoopla surrounding the need to be online at all times for the next Xbox?

I know I'm completely fine with this requirement.

I don't know anyone that owns an Xbox and not internet.

Depends on how much data it is sending / receiving. Some people have data caps. Others have limited bandwidth.

I guess it would matter more to me if I owned an Xbox. :)

It depends on how much bandwidth you have.  Also, some people still have metered internet connections.  The better question might be why does it need to be always on.  I know he isn't popular amongst the Microsoft community but Chris Pirillo has a good 10 minute video on the subject on YouTube.

I haven't heard anything about the new Xbox that definitely makes me mad because I don't connect all my Xboxes to the Internet unless I'm doing an update.

PS SinceI know someone will ask, the reason I don't have all of them connected is because I don't have a LAN drop at each one.

Of course there would be an issue with Xbox servers this while this issue is on people's minds! <_<
