2 Video Cards

Recommended Posts

mon40

OK I will christen the Off topic area. Anyone ever use to very different video cards simultaneously?

I played the SimCity demo and everything had to be put to low or off.

Right now I have two cheap 2 monitor video cards for my three screen set up.

Can I invest in a good video card and have both cards in the motherboard and get some good rendering going in one screen?

Not that you won't get good answers in this forum but you might try posting your question over in the home server show forums under the BYOB, hardware, power section.  http://homeservershow.com/forums/index.php?/forum/32-power/.  I bet you will get a quicker response.

If you invest in a good card it will drive all three monitors so you won't need two cards.

Between my GTX560ti and my motherboard, I run 5 monitors flawlessly. (2 via hdmi, 2 via dvi, 1 via vga)

Great I am just going to make sure I have the power for it and then buy it.

Thanks so much.

You don't 'need' the 560ti, there are much much cheaper options than the 560ti, that's a budget gaming card. Most cards and motherboards can do multiple monitors without a problem!

No I need a gaming one...I have two dual cards in there that cast $30. Now I want to play SimCity 5 on the same pc.

So it looks like I can get 4 monitiors on these two Dual-Link DVI-I HDCP. I assume with a 'y' adaptor.

But it looks like to me I can only mirror after splitting so I have more homework to do.

$30 each.  Some used nvidias. Two monitor cards are cheap even new.
