Oakbrook, Il (Chicago Area) Microsoft Store

Recommended Posts

Dave

It looks like I might be travelling during the big Surface unveil. I am looking to incorporate the Oakbrook, IL in these travels to hopefully be there on opening morning of the 26th.

Does anyone know about this store? Is it a regular storefront? Mall?

I don't know if they are ready to publish the info on hours or not but I'm also wondering if they will be open at Midnight or regular hours.

I just talked to this store and was told that they will open at 8 A.M. on Friday morning. No midnight opening but that is earlier than normal.

Anyone want to meet up and start the line?

I just called them for special hours on Surface Pro release, they said no special hours yet but to call back later in the week as that might change.

Sadly, I won't make it up there for the Pro release.  Make sure you take some photos

Did not get there for open and sadly they were sold out.  I am going back tomorrow because people who did not pick up their reserved ones will go on sale tomorrow.

That's interesting.  It's one of those things that you would like to tell people but then again you don't want them to get there before you!

It sounds like inventory on the 128GB went fast.

I dodged a bullet on the whole thing.  I don't know how I could have walked out of that Best Buy without a 128!  I would love to have one, just don't really need it right now.

I think it's quickly going to become my 'walking around PC'. I'll use it while watching TV, while waiting for installs, upgrades, and other processes to complete on other computers, and while, ahem, 'sitting' :D

Well I am not sure I am going back.  I think I will though.  I still wonder if its true.

The Microsoft Store has the off contract AT&T and Verizon variants of the LTE enabled Nokia Lumia 2520 for only $399. Again, no contract required so you could in theory use this as a WiFi only device.  I am still using mine and love it. I am rocking the AT&T black model.
