bcbarlow7737
I've got a similar problem. I can access the remote site and remote desktop into my server or home pc over the internet. Thats using ports 80, 443, and 4125. I'm trying to set up a VPN so my mother-in-law can backup her PC. I've setup port forwarding in my WRT54G for port 1723 but nothing goes through. I've even gone as far as DMZ my server and that still doesn't work any ideas? Thanks Brock
dvn
What a coincidence. Just within this last week, I tried to set up VPN on Windows 7 using PPTP/port 1723 and had zero luck with it. I tried doing this back in the days of XP, years ago, and never had any luck then either. If anyone knows the steps to getting this thing to work, I'd like to hear it, too. I know people will suggest 3rd-party solutions such as Logmein. But if there's a way to get the native Windows VPN to work, even if it's a bit complicated, it would be nice to have that option.
