Some of us are experiencing problems streaming media from our WHS systems to Media Centers or Extenders despite using 1GB LANs.
The issue seems to relate to the HDD's getting hammered when Demigrator.exe kicks in. There are more details @ http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?/topic/8335-demigrator-exe-again/page__st__80

There is an issue raised on Microsoft's Connect and if you are experiencing the aame issues could you go in and record this by voting for the issue @ https://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsHomeServer/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=515270&wa=wsignin1.0 - note that you do need to register for Connect and log in to access this issue

Dave and team - any chance of giving this some visibility on the Podcast - I think it will become more visible as people use PP3 to transfer Recorded TV from their MC's to their WHS's and then stream it to clients and extenders

Oh man, that certainly doesn't sound good. WHS (Win7 too) really should be smarter about sensing usage levels and schedule tasks accordingly.

I agree that this needs to be brought to MS's attention. I've had this problem on slower systems (LX195) and powerful ones (frankenbuild quad core w/ 15k cheetahs) which you would think could handle a lot of disk i/o. Go out there and vote to get this addressed!

I'm going to "bump" this one as it a really annoying issue - to summarise and update the situation
A number of WHS users are reporting issues with Demigrator hammering HDD's periodically and causing stuttering and pixelation when streaming media.
There is a thread on this issue over on We Got Served @ http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?/topic/8335-demigrator-exe-again/page__st__100
This thread also includes a link to a MS Connect case on this issue @ https://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsHomeServer/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=515270&wa=wsignin1.0

So far 52 people have registered this as an issue on Connect with 32 indicating they can reproduce the issue - if you are also experiencing isssues with Demigrator can you head over to Connect and add your voice to the issue. Microsoft's latest response was on 5 January (after losing CAB files that have been submitted) "Thank you very much for your submitting. It is really my fault that the CAB file are gone during the Chirstmas and New Year vocation. I am very sorry for the inconvenience I brought, but would you please obtain them again for the last time? I will look into it ASAP.

Thank you very very much!
Mona Gao
Windoes Home Server Team"

Fingers crossed for early resolution

Diehard - can you guys give this some visibility in the next podcast please?
