riahc3
I want to replace the fans on the N54L with Noctua fans which are quiet. Obviously there are several in the 120mm range. Any luck and/or guide with them (yes, I have seen the generic one) How about the 40mm PSU one? Noctua has the NF-A4x10 FLX
BJWTech
I used a the 120mm one. It turned out the RPM's were too low and the HP Microserver would say the fan failed... So I had to set the speed manually by not pluggin in the 4th pin and using an inline speed knob..... Not the best solution. Look for a fan that has the same rpm specs as the original. Then you should be good. Keep in mind you will have to rearrange the pins as HP uses a non standard pinout on this board.... Brian - HTH!

oj88
I have several N40L (dunno how different they are with the N54L beyond the CPU) and they are all whisper quiet. Considering I live in a tropical country. What sort of ambient temp do you have in your environment?
