I wish I could actually use it. I live in a rural area in Northwest Illinois. My broadband is supplied using a Motorola Canopy wireless system. My average download speed is around 1.0 Mbps so it can't maintain a reliable video stream for PlayOn.

Has anyone tried installing this on their WHS? You would need to remote in to the desktop to install, but curious if anyone has tried it.

Wow...I paid like $30 or $35 for it a while ago. Oh well I guess my only consolation is that if Jim had bought it he would have paid more. ;-)

I did also buy TubeCore which is on sale for $1.99 here: http://tubecentric.tv/ and whose developer Ian Dixon had interviewed on the Media Center Show 225 here: http://thedigitallifestyle.com/cs/blogs/podcast/archive/2009/10/01/the-media-center-show-225-tubecore.aspx . TubeCore works for both PlayOn and Twonky BTW.

I haven't tried either one yet so I can't give feed back on this yet but for the $2. I'd say TubeCore is worth grabbing if you have either of those streaming servers.

@ cskenney - there is some hackery involved (you can find the instructions on the playon website) but you can run it on your homeserver if your cpu is sufficient. It worked great on my old frankenbuild running dual 3.0ghz xeons, but my current whs is an Intel SS4200-E, which I love, but the 1.6ghz celeron just doesn't quite cut it for playon, its almost enough but I notice some stuttering. Luckily there are several dual core chips that will work in it so I'll soon be swapping it for a faster chip.
