Boot from external ESATA?

Hi everyone.

My first post on this forum. :) So I'm the proud owner of a N54L with five 3.5 HDDs. I want to boot W10 from an external SSD HDD and build my new RAID-5 setup. Issue is that booting from USB is excruciatingly slow and I was wondering if there's an option to boot from the external Esata port since it doesn't show up as an option on the boot menu. If not an option can I goi with an internal 3.0 USB card like this https://www.amazon.com/Cord-free-Inateck-Controller-Internal-Connector/dp/B00JFR2H64 or this https://www.amazon.co.uk/CSL-Express-Interface-Controller-internal/dp/B01C2RJ5NQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1481838459&sr=8-4&keywords=Inateck+2-Port+PCI-E+USB.

Thanks,

JP

I have not tried to Boot from the eSATA port, but you may want to look at the Mod BIOS for the N54l. It 'unlocks' features in the MS. Perhaps it would enable the eSATA port to Boot. If you are not using the PCIe slots you could add a SATA card and boot from that as well.
