It is most likely a BIOS update problem. You should update your BIOS. I have the i5-3470T processor in my server and it works perfectly.

It also looks like a RAM problem. Make sure that you have ECC unbuffered RAM. Maybe try with the original RAM sticks that came with the server.

I have a 3470T on it's way for my G8. IT has the latest PSP installed so I'll get back with the results as soon as the CPU makes it's way over the great pond

CPU:

  INTEL CORE I5-3470T

When you power on the server, does anything happen? Do you see anything on the screen?

I re-removed the CPU, cleaned the contacts with alcohol and installed using thermal grease. It worked without problems.

The processor was used and maybe the contacts are oxidized or dirty.
