Hi there,

I'm putting together a new server build and I have a query about the type of cable I require.

So the plan is to buy an Lsi Sas 9207-8I (flash it to 2308 IT to run FreeNAS passthrough on ESXi):

As you can see they use this type of connector (I cant remember its name).

Due to my case choice I will be using a P4000M Intel FUP8X35HSDK 8x3.5 Hot-Swap Drive Cage Kit New:

Am I right in thinking I just need to grab two cables and put 1 for 1 in each port of the HBA?

If so what cable do I require?

Looks like SFF-8087 connectors on each end. Check the manuals to be sure, but it look like you need two SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 cables.

Ahh.  I can only find the manual for the LSI and it does indeed list the connector as SFF8087. I think it's safe to assume that the backplane on the hotswap bay is also the same. Thanks for the response :)
