Hey guys and gals in the know :)

HP Microserver Gen8 has 3 LAN sockets. In what scenario might I want to use all 3?

If I have all 3 plugged into my switch could I use 1 dedicated to iLO, 1 dedicated to Hyper-V, and the other 1 generally for everything as I would normally? Would it even be necessary/make a difference to anything?

Normally in a profi environment each NIC would go to a different switch for fault tolerance, and the iLO port would go somewhere else inside so your techs could access the box to do maintenance. The important point is that this allows flexibility in your setup, for example your iLO to be on a different physical network than your other NICs for security reasons.
