CPU and Air Cooling

Under normal use, yes it's overkill. But for enthusiasts looking to use it under extreme load and overclocking to boot, every degree of cooling helps.

 

And there's also the fun in modding things. To the large majority, having a home server with several terrabytes of Plex content is overkill. But then, this is what floats my boat. Apparently, lapping/polishing processors and heatsinks is what float theirs. :)

coming from a forum where people have nothing better to do than cram 57 disks into a 10x10x10 microserver there should be more appreciation for over-the-top efforts of any kind :)
