Power saving settings in iLO/BIOS

Hi there,

I recently bought a MS Gen 8 base model with the G1610T and 2GB.

There are 3 options regarding power savings in BIOS. I cannot remember the exact wording, but the 3 options are like

1. Maximum performance

2. Maximum power savings

3. Balanced

Does anyone know what each option actually does and what sort of an impact it has on performance?

Cheers

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03161908.pdf explains the options and what they do. There isn't much of a difference between maximum performance and balanced since the main change is that it stops the CPU from going into a low power C-state. You've saving the tiny amount of time it takes for the CPU to leave the low power C-state and ramp up to full speed.

TL;DR Leave it set to balanced and you'll be fine.
