chumly
Hi, had a look through the forum and couldn't find the answer to my question. I apologize if this has been asked before Is there a way to turn the bright blue LED and the bottom of the server off or do I have to go old school and put some tape over it? GotNoTime
Nope. No way of turning the LEDs off. The big status LED along the bottom changes colour and flashes if there is a fault with the server. You may be able to carefully remove the motherboard from the chassis and cover up the LED on the front edge. I don't know about clearance from the LED to the big light pipe that goes to the LED bar though.
Snapshot
Ah-ha. Search does turn up the answer, even if it's not the one we want. One Gen 8 wasn't too bad but two seem to be lighting up the house and are getting complaints from Mrs S. I think some black tape covering the majority of the bar will be called for. JBark
I think some black tape covering the majority of the bar will be called for. That did the trick for mine, otherwise it was ridiculously bright at night.
