In the latest podcast you are talking about a backup software called cronos, chronos or kronos. Where do I find more information about this software?

Your're right, it must be Acronis they are talking about. Veeam looks interesting too. Thanks!

Now I have tested Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE and I really like it. It simple, fast and easy to use, but what's the catch? Why would they give away this software for free. Acronis is charging almost $50 for one license and their software are very simliar. The only downside with Veeam Endpoint Backup is that it's only available for Windows and for some strange reason it require SQL to be installed.

Glad you like it. There is no catch, Veeam is a very successful company with all there paid products and they just wanted to give back to the public and fill a much needed void and I must say they have done that very well. there has been talk that they might come out with a paid version at some point but this version will remain free for life. I agree with you about the use of SQL I also wish it was not used.

Dave - You mentioned a 4+1 1Gb POE switch that you liked and was reasonably priced on the podcast.  What was the model number?

Thanks,
Jaz

Thanks,

Jaz

It was this one http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LP3E05C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1N6867G1O15RY&coliid=I3FS4LUCCU6EDS&psc=1

There is also an 8 port model http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LP3E05C/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1N6867G1O15RY&coliid=I3FS4LUCCU6EDS&psc=1

Another great thing about these switches is it supports none POE devices without any configuration aka auto detection, Have a look at the link below and press the watch video on top of page-

http://www.trendnet.com/products/business/poe-plus/switches

Edit: I just changed the link to includes HSS referral link so Dave gets a few penny from the sale to pay his bills. I really got to get use to doing that but i keep forgetting. Sorry Dave :(

For anyone not knowing what I am talking about here just click this link before you purchase http://www.amazon.com/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&linkCode=ur2&tag=mccabe-20 and Dave will get some pennies for your purchase, We all need to support him and this grate comunity he has built.

Yep, that is the one.  http://amzn.to/1pSC6rE So far so good with it.  I'm not really stressing it now but I like the simplicity of it.  4 POE plus one uplink.  If you look through the other options on that amazon page it's the sweet spot for pricing too.

Thanks for shopping with my link too!

Dave I came across some very interesting information regarding Foscam, I know you stated that you got an email from what you believed to be from Foscam and it seems other people have also got simular emails making customers believe that there camera's where made by Foscam so Foscam has responded with a warning about this and it seems to me that Reolink is not a Foscam camera, See this link http://www.foscam.com/newsinfo/13.html

Thoughts?
