Microserver Gen 8 G1610T - ESXI 6.1 Data Stores not working

Hi all,

Looking forward to some good interactions with this forum. I'm new to the HP Micro Server and would appreciate some assistance on a matter I have not been able to solve for a month now.

After searching high and low this is my only option.

Use Cases:

  1. Attempt 1: Microserver with 16 GB RAM
    1. Installed 16 GB Corsair ECC RAM and all is working as expected
    2. Navigated to "HP Intelligent Provisioning" menu (v1.61)
    3. Navigated to "Smart Storage Administrator
    4. Created a new RAID 1 Logical Drive
    5. Drive created successfully
    6. Available space 0% displayed on SSA
    7. VMware 6.1 custom HP .iso loaded / installed onto USB thumb drive successfully.
    8. VMware doesn't see the logical drive
  2. Attempt 2:
    1. Installed 16 GB Corsair ECC RAM and all is working as expected
    2. Navigated to "HP Intelligent Provisioning" menu (v1.61)
    3. Erased all data on the HDD's (took 3 days) 1.5TB & 2TB drives in RAID 1
    4. VMware still didn't see the logical drives

The problem I have is with the HDD's not making available the allotted drivespace

Question:

Please can you give some guidance here as I'm at a point where I want to drop kick the server and move on with my life. Alternatively, please point me to someone who is able to assist with a resolve.

Kind regards

Warren

SSH to the box, and paste this command. What does it show?

/opt/hp/hpssacli/bin/hpssacli ctrl slot=0 pd all show detail

Also, by VMware 6.1 I assume you mean 6.0 U1b?

Did you go in vsphere client and create the data stores? Does it see the drives then?
