Trying to Install 2012 R2 in g1610t

Hi Guys,

I have spent the last 12 hours trying to get the damn windows install to work.

It is the Intel® Celeron® G1610T with 2GB standard memory

I am using a 120GB OCZ SSD in bay 2 as boot drive

Everytime i am getting a different error.

When HP smart provisioning finishes installing the OS at the final step it says it cannot find install.vim and may have errors.

I get the above error when booting into the OS

This is how i usually install.

Boot into HP smart provisioning

Use HP b20i SSD in raid 0

select iso from Virtual drive

install

get errors

I have tried the below.

- Removing Raid 0 and booting as a normal drive

- Disabling HP B20i Raid and using AHCI

- Re downloading 2012 from torrent and from windows evaluation

- Doing the Install from different PC's ILO

everytime it fails when triyng to install.

Anybody have any suggestions??

I think I had the same problem.

Add the storage controller driver from HP site http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5390291&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4168

Thanks,

Unfortunatley using the intelligent boot does not give this option. I am trying a manual boot now.

When i try manual the OS does not seem to detect the driver on usb :(

Run SPP to update all your firmware and IP

Add RAM so you have more than 2GB

Why is your OS drive in Bay 2? Shouldn't make a difference but all else equal I'd go Bay 1.

Where do i run SPP?

Thanks i have a 16GB kit on its way but it got lost in the post.. Will upgrade when it arrives.

Purley a lazy reason for bay 2. I will be moving the OS into the ODD port ones adapters arrive.

Search threads on HSS about SPP, latest version is 2015.10.0 -- I'm posting from my phone so don't have link handy -- also in HSS blog posts for ML10v2 I believe also

Have you run SPP (HP Service Pack ProLiant) to update your firmware and IP?  http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5390291&swItemId=MTX_1d06af9e8a0a4e43b8981b4471&swEnvOid=4168

Did you upgrade your RAM?

Are you doing the install via IP?

Are you attaching your OS iso's via iLO4?  Bootable Flash?  DVD?

If doing manually, did you get the B120i Driver from HP (links in message #2 above) and extract the drivers from the .exe file and copy to a Flash drive?

If using Flash drives have you been sure not to use the USB3.0 ports (those will not work until an OS is running)

Thanks for all your help.

I got it going last night i think it was a combo of issues related to attached the Image via ILo and a faulty USB.

I purchased a new USB loaded the windows image onto it and it worked first go though IP.

Now working like magic thanks!
