Difference between these microservers?

I currently have a Synology DS211j which is incredibly underpowered and it's time for an upgrade. I was going upgrade to the Synology DS1515+, but then realize that an HP Microserver would probably be a better deal (better CPU and more ram for less cost). I'm a big fan of the DSM and hoping I'll be happy switching to FreeNas or Xpelenology, but I digress.

 

I'm a bit of a hardware noob and having trouble understanding the different between these two models:

My main question is whether the Core i3 is that much better to make up for the extra 4 gigs of ram the Xeon model comes with?
