CraigR
Yes, fresh install of the OS and all updates yesterday. No vm just the OS 4 other standard storage drives. The SSD is just for the OS nothing else on it.
Drashna Jaelre
Brand new SSD hard drive. Double checked and yes I have the latest bios. Same controller? Not sure what you are asking there. Drive Controller. Onboard controller, most likely. Check to see which mode it's in. AHCI is the ideal mode for most system configurations. ANd since you've already reinstlled ... have you tried Windows 8 or 10 on the system as well? Maybe it's an OS related issue. If all the other OS's have the same issue, it may be related to hardware. And if that is the case, are you overclocking or using the XMP profile (assuming a consumer/gamer mainboard)? If so, disable.
CraigR
I just looked in the bios and it is set for AHCI. Never had 8 or 10 on system. it came with 7 Pro 64 Not overclocking anything and in bios I "set to default" Here is a page with the specs on it https://h10057.www1.hp.com/ecomcat/hpcatalog/specs/provisioner/99/FM065UT.htm

schoondoggy
There seems to be different versions of the board in this workstation. Does yours have 4 or 6 DIMM sockets.

schoondoggy
Interesting, they must have had a few versions. Have you tried those loading directions, filling the white slots then the black?
