okay I don't have a cablemodem that will grant multi IP addresses. I will try using the two routers on different subnets and enabling port forwarding for port 80

Good points, I tend to think of my layout as 'hub and spoke'. Any device to any device on the same network is at most three switches apart.

As always it is a tradeoff between cost and performance. For your setup, I think you've implemented the correct solution. It isn't always possible or economically feasible to wire everything on a site back to one huge switch and in large installations, you wouldn't want to anyway. A large datacenter will have a small number of core switches at the middle, next tier out would be aggregation switches and then finally access switches where devices get plugged in.

 

What you've got is clean and well documented. Sure, you could get higher speed uplinks to the core but it isn't really necessary.
