DNS Updater

New add-in called DNS Updater available at http://www.tenatoms.com/Products/DnsUpdater

I'll start the comments on this one. My 2 cents... Twenty bucks for a simple one-trick pony that my router (running the open source Tomato firmware) already does for free? I'll pass.

Granted, it also apparently does URL redirection but I also get that for free with my 1&1 domain account.

This was the opening topic for show 102. Thanks for getting a post started.

I would agree. Is $4.99 any better? Phil Churchhill also had some problems with the add in stability. Just a caution.

What router are you running Tomato on?

I use No-IP.com since I run a Small Business Server at home and have never had an issue with them.. One thing I did not get to experiment with while home this summer was to experiment with the IIS settings on my WHS box to redirect the home page to 8080 instead of 80 that SBS needs. I know this can be done but it will be difficult for most folks. Now, having said that, this would also be useful in running more than one WHS boxes from behind one router. This add-in for dynamic DNS routing seems a little "weak" for my needs.

I use the Tomato firmware on my WRT54GL over here and will be using this when I finally go home.
