I talked a little bit about my Surface Book issues on episode 100. Find that here. I didn't have hot bagging, or sleep issues like everyone else did with their dGPU type Books. I have the lower i5 version without the extra GPU in the base.
The latest firmware update was supposed to fix the issues with sleep states and transitions. I of course didn't have the issues so the firmware ended up causing some! I've had some wifi connectivity issues here and there but the one that I was most upset about was Windows Hello didn't work after waking the Book up. It worked with a reboot or a fresh power on but not from any sleep state.
It was a very simple fix and nothing to really complain about. Turn the feature off. Turn the feature on. Retrain your face. Done.
Hit the Windows key and type Hello. It also works by typing "HELL" but that's more for you guys with dGPU Surface Books. I kid, i kid! This should pop up a "Setup Face sign-in" on your start menu. I think I hit remove and turned it off. I probably rebooted for good measure and used a PIN to sign in. Then back to the setting to setup face recognition. Train it with a hat, glasses, etc. The feature works great.
I've tested this over several nights and wake ups and it has turned the camera on nicely. It was an easy fix.
