The Home Server Show Podcast represents at CES 2009

I’m busy packing up all my gear so I can head out to CES tomorrow morning and wanted to open up the blog to all readers to see if there is anything you might personally want to see via photos or hear about in a CES podcast.  But first, I ran across some interesting information about CES I want to share with you.

Some of the landmark technologies and products that have had their official debuts at CES:

1970: The Videocassette Recorder (VCR)
1974: The Laserdisc Player
1981: The Camcorder, Compact Disc Player
1998: HDTV
1999: Hard-disc VCR (PVR)
2000: Digital Audio Radio (DAR)
2001: The Plasma TV, Microsoft Xbox
2002: Home Media Server
2003: Blu-Ray Disc, HDTV PVR
2004: HD Radio
2005: IPTV
2007: Wireless HDMI

What will be the headline this year?

You can visit the CES website here and get news from the show.  Of course Ian and I will be doing live blogging and podcasts from the show floor starting Wednesday evening through Sunday. Here is a CES link to the Exhibitor Directory. Give this a look and see if there is anyone who you might want to visit.  I’ll be sure to stop by.

Don’t forget to add me to your Twitter.

Tune in Wednesday evening for the live keynote by Steve Ballmer. The homeservershow.com and thedigitallifestyle.com will be live blogging this event.  Tune in and participate!

Thank you and I look forward to your comments and tweets.  I’ll also have e-mail at the show so don’t hesitate to drop a message.  You know the address right?  podcast@
