Good show as always, Dave. :)

For your user that wrote in with the corrupt Backup DB – does the Backup repair work? This may lose some of his backups but could preserve the ones that aren’t damaged…

Hi yakuza, I am the user with the backup db problem. Yes I have ran several Backup repairs and they all come back within a few minutes that all backups are good. The file that is being reported missing is “GlobalCluster.4096.dat” but I can see it on the drive.

Not sure what else to try at this point. If I have to I can start backups from scratch but there is a backup of 1 PC that I would really like to get back.

Dave, thanks for the help on this and reading my e-mail on the podcast.

    Question:
Could I forgo the molex pin portion of the instructions by purchasing a 20-Pin to 24-Pin ATX Adapter Cable (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=186&products_id=2909)?

Thank you for posting the wiki entry for replacing a MediaSmart PSU. I’m in this predicament and was told by HP that I’d have to send in my ex475 for repair — it’s 8-9 mos. out of warranty.
    Thx Again,
    e

Hi Paul, I’d be happy to help you troubleshoot more, if you’d like to post in the MediaSmartServer.net forums (I hope Dave doesn’t mind me directing you there :D ), it’s easier for me to keep track there.

Edgebert, since you came over to the forums and posted, it looks like we got you working with a new power supply, glad the tutorial was helpful!

For the question early in the show about syncing I se to basicly good methods, either use windows live mesh that can be setup to sync different computers over the internet. Or use a VPN connection it is probably easyest to set up using hamachi and then use one of the hundreds of network syncing tools. Personally I like the second aproce since it gives me all of the functionality of a networked computer over the internet, but if it is used purely for syncing, the mesh aproche is probably slightly easyer to setup and will work just as well.
