The Home Server Show 39 – OS System Drive Failure Options

The Home Server Show 39 – OS Drive Failure Options.  In today’s episode we briefly talk about the article I wrote on replacing a hard drive in your Windows Home Server but the questions that came up were what do I do if I have a failure of my system drive.  I’ll go over your options and provide some excellent links!

Here is the link mentioned at the end of the podcast.  It’s the one you want to save or print.  It might save you some time and headaches someday.

SageTV on the Media Smart will work fine. The Sage Server runs completely on WHS (including as a Console Add In) and controls all recording. In addition to USB capture devices (Hauppauge HD-PVR or HVR-1950) you can also use HDHomeRuns' on the network, without using precious USB ports. A powered hub will work if you run out of USB ports. See the SageTV forums for WHS particulars, but a lot of users have SageTV and WHS humming along nicely.

    Thanks – just a Sage/WHS user,
