The 2nd Annual Home Server Show Meetup

Last year Jim Collison and I played host to around 25 meetup participants and we are back for more in 2012.  It was an overwhelming success thanks to sponsors and guys that took a lot of time out of their weekend to either fly or drive to the meetup.  I think we destroyed 20 large pizzas and several cases of soda.  The vendors, especially Drobo, came through with some awesome give away items.  We even did a live podcast and had John Zajdler on a screen right there in the room.  It was a great time.

We are doing it again this year in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The date: October 20th, 2012.  Time: 10AM to 4 PM.  Location: TBA

There is a discussion in the forums if you would like to read a little more about the meetup or ask a question.  Several guys are looking for riders to share in the driving expense so be sure to read this thread.

We have an official schedule for the meetup if you would like to track the event’s progress. We will be doing a live podcast, hopefully some breakout sessions on storage and media topics too. We’ll have a lot of gear to showcase and some give away items as well.  Last year Drobo sponsored the meetup and this time they are providing a Drobo FS to on lucky attendee.

VENDORS – I need some help. If you or your company would like to help us pull this off we really need sponsors.  Contact me directly at “podcast” (AT)  We need a main sponsor, gear to demo,  and give away items. Pizza wouldn’t hurt either.

Stay tuned to the forum post linked above and the podcast for more information. Contact me if you have any questions.
