Monday Update for February 16th, 2009

Monday Update Graphic

The Home Build section of the website is really starting to take off.

Soon after announcing it I got several submissions..  Look for it on the right side of the website.  Keith’s build has added a few photos that really showcase his server build.  It’s a nice case and quality parts.  Pat’s build includes Windows Media Center, home automation and more.  Take a look for yourself.  It’s a nice write-up and a showcase of some very hard work.   Thank you Pat and Keith.

Get your submission in and I’ll get it posted.  Use the contact form or email podcast at the domain name in your browser.

We have new writers at homeservershow.com!  Check the new guys by reading their bio’s and sit back whilst they amaze us with their writings.  No pressure guys!  Lux has been busy.  He has two posts up already.

WHS on Tekzilla

OTA HDTV on a Netbook – This post was supposed to go on his personal blog but it got cross posted to here so we’ll take it.  I think it’s nice to change things up a bit.

Did you catch podcast number 34?  It was a good one.  VIA interviewed with me and we talk about their three newest servers.  Some of which will turn up as full blown Windows Home Servers.  The cool thing about VIA boxes is you can buy them as barebones and soon as a Windows Home Server.

And lastly, RSS Changes are needed for subscribers.  Google has gobbled Feedburner and they are making all Feedburner users to change their feeds.  The nerve of these guys huh!

Here are the new feeds:

http://feeds2.feedburner.com/HSSPodcastBlog (The Home Server Show Blog)
http://feeds2.feedburner.com/HSSPodcast (The Home Server Show Podcast)

iTunes users should be ok so don’t change anything.

Zune Marketplace users there is a Zune 1 Click button on the website that you will need to click.

I know it’s a pain and apologize but I had no choice in the matter.  Subscribe to the Blog feed to keep up to date with any issues.  Thanks.

Does anyone know what rss reader add in they were talking about on Tekzilla? As of a couple days ago they hadn't put a single add-in into the show notes.

Hmmm… the links to Keith and Pat C's submissions don't seem to work withing the update blog post. They do however work from he links on the right as noted. Just an FYI.

That is misleading huh. I took a screen shot to put in that post and it links to itself as a graphic.

scottbakertemp, the addin for the RSS reader is http://forum.wegotserved.com/index.php?autocom=do… although it say xbox, you can still access the feeds with any DLNA device.

What I like about it is that you can set the feed for text or video or audio. I ran into a problem when trying to delete the existing feeds, as I deleted more than 3 feeds, somehow they repopulated the list.

What I find insane is that the feeds are stored on the c: partition not a shared folder. If your library because large, that will lead to problems.
