One thing with the Seagate drive. If you recall there is a firmware flash needed for certain 7200.11 drives. I’m not sure if they pulled drives off the shelf or not so I am including the link to the Seagate knowledge base article that helps you determine if you have a drive that needs an update. It’s not a hardware fault at least. It’s a firmware glitch which may result in data becoming inaccessible after a power-off/on operation.
