I'm currently obsessed with SSD's and one thing I would love to hear about if what people do for Raid setups. almost every one of my machines has a raid setup and the only thing I currently do is run ccleaner every month or so with freespace wipe.

Server 2008r2 2x 120Gb Vertex 3
Gaming PC 3x 160GB Intel X25M G2's
Laptop 2x 120GB Corsair GT's
Gaming PC2 3x 80Gb Intel X25M G2's
Laptop2 256GB Samsung SSD
HTPC 120GB Intel X25M G2
HTPC2 256GB Samsung SSD

Plan for my Gaming PC/Benching PC is 8x 120GB Corsair GT's or 8x 120GB Vertex 3 maxiops editions on a Areca Raid Controller :)

I need to settle on one drive type will maake moving things around later much easier

I now dont feel so bad:

Workstation at home (4) Intel SSD X-25 160Gb in Raid Ø
Workstation at work (2) Mushkin 120 GB Chronos Sata3 drives in RAID Ø
Laptop with Crucial M4 256Gb
and two othe SSDs just sitting on my desk til I figure out where to put them, a OCZ 240GB Sata3 Unit and a MushKin 120GB Sata two that got replaced out of the laptop.

I assume the fixit must be doing the reg changes needed to allow switching back and forth from AHCI and IDE.

Yes, exactly, if you look at the lower part of the KB post it says how to manually do them if needed, but the 'Fix It' button works great.

OK so here is what I learned from this install of the SSD in my HP 4350s:

I originally Shrunk (using gParted) the factory installed 500 Gb Hard Drive to fit in on a Mushkin 120Gb (Sata2) Drive, this actually seem to work pretty well, but when I ordered a new Crucial Technology M4 256Gb (Sata3) SSD, cloning the 120Gb drive to the 256 Drive just did not work correctly!

So I Decided to do a fresh install, after doing a fresh install and applying all the Patches and Service Packs to the install and using the HP Factory Restore Disk for the drivers, the machine still did not work correctly in ATA/IDE mode or AHCI Mode. ACHI mode would actually BSOD the machine, erratic behavior and just general problems overall.

Turns out (and this is the important part) that there is a Microsoft Knowledge Base article and 'Fix It' for this problem:

Error message when you start a Windows 7 or Windows Vista-based computer after you change the SATA mode of the boot drive: "STOP 0x0000007B INACCESSABLE_BOOT_DEVICE"

If you re-install and start the machine in ATA/IDE mode and apply this patch/fix, restart the machine, jump into Bios and set the controller back to ACHI, everything works!
