Graph not showing any usage

21 April 2012 - 09:31 AM

WHS Drobo status shows all information the same as the Drobo dashboard.

Both say 1.18TB avalible and both say 65% avalible.

The graph that depicts usage on WHS Drobo Status shows 0 KB used while the graph on the Drobo dashboard depicts the correct usage.

I apoligize for not providing screen shots. It appears i'm to ignorant too figure out how to upload them.

I have a 4bay USB 2.0 Drobo unit.

HP N40L PCIe Card Confusion

15 April 2012 - 05:57 PM

Expansion Slots:
Slot 1: PCI-Express Gen 2 x16 connector with x16 link
Slot 2: PCI-Express Gen 2 x1 connector with x1 Link
Slot 2-2: PCI-Express x4 slot for optional management card

Above is a list of the expansion slots on my HP Proliant N40L MicroServer.
I have installed an eSata card in slot #2 of the MicroServer.
I now want to install either a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 in slot #1 but (I really only need USB 2.0 but, USB 3.0 would be ok, as long as, it is backword compatible with USB2.0)
I am really confused on which one to order.
Newegg is not clear on if a card is PCI-Express Gen 2 x16 connector with x16 link or not.

Would someone be so kind, as to let me know which one to order?
Do they even make a USB 2.0 card for this slot?

Are there any Known Stablebit Drive Pool Conflicts?

14 April 2012 - 09:21 PM

Does anyone know of any conflicts or any reason you should not run Stablebit Drive Pool on a WHS2011 server that is also running PerfectDisk 12?

I have ordered a Drobo and once it arrives I was thinking of transfering all of my data to the MicroServer, Connecting the Sans Digital 4bay USB tower to the MicroServer and Retiring the HP Data Vault.

I would have the MicroServer connected to, 1 Sans Digital 4 bay eSata tower, 1 Sans Digital 4 Bay USB tower and, 1 4bay USB Drobo (For Backups)

There would be a total of 12 data hard drives backing up to the Drobo.

Not to mention the fact that, all of the shared folder would be backing up to KeepVault. ( Come to think of it! Are there any known issues with Stablebit Drive Pool and KeepVault?)

I'm thinking that using the Stablebit Drive Pool add-in would make drive & Folder managment much more simple.

Thinking of selling EX470 for parts or other use

03 April 2012 - 08:54 PM

I'm thinking about selling my EX470 with upgraded ram & CPU (highly prized 4200 35w).

Between installing WHS 2011 and WHSV1 2 or 3 times, I have also managed to wipe the on board USB SMI file chip.

You can still load WHSV1 on it but, you will have to use a work around that, Bruce so kindly helped me with.

WHS 2011 loads easily by following Alex's tutorial.

I will also include the 3.0 HP disks.

I will be removing all hard drives for use in the HP Proliant Micro Server that I just purchased.

PM me with an offer if you are interested.

Chris
