I will play with a few of these. I have looked at ip cameras and I could probably get a cheap netbook for about the same price. Thanks for the advice everyone I will report back what I go with in the end.
well I tried this over the weekend and sadly no go for me. The Ethernet cord extension worked great but when I plugged it into the wall outlet the powerline adapter started smoking. I don't think it would have worked since before the smoke got to thick it didn't load the drivers correctly.
