I have purchased the Rocketraid 2720 for my 2011 server upgrade (wanted redundancy and larger than 2TB drives) - the mb is the Asus P7H55-M/USB3 which has 6x intel sata 3.0 and 2x Marvell 6.0 ports but no raid. The mb was purchased before the DE removal announcement.
Has anyone combined one of the drive extender replacements with a raid card - ie do they coexist?. So can I have bunch of disks on the raid card and a bunch of disks on the MB grouped using Drive Extender Replacement. Also if yes, any recommendation on the driver extender replacement to use?

Hi - looking to upgrade whs v1 to 2011 . Thanks to voltage spike last year insurance replaced my server MB and CPU - so I have, i5 650, 4GB ram in Asus P7H55 MB with a single free x16 PCIe slot. I have 5x 2TB Samsung drives plus a 300G Seagate with the OS. What Raid controller card is recommended - Raid 5 seems to me to be the best alternative to replace drive extender? Please let me know what is the best option - not looking for huge performance more cost driven. . Also want to expand storage with additional 2TB drives. Use whs for PC back up (duplicated), photo storage (duplicated), records and docs (duplicated) and serving video/movies to htpc - relatively simple use. Any advice appreciated thanks Chris

my E6600 and 945 based Gigabyte MB died so replaced it with i5 and Asus P7H55-M/USB3 MB. All well with change - added drivers and re-registered with MS. But now the server won't come out of hibernation/suspension when a client PC starts up.
The Lights Out client keeps the server going while the client is on and the server goes into ibernation or suspend (tried both) when they are turned off.
I have tried:
1. re-installing Lights Out client
2. checked all bios settings and turned on all power wake up options
3. checked forum but nothing similar
Any help would be appreciated
