Good show guys. I’m going to listen to it again.

One thing I thought I would contribute.

I think if may be possible to attach a USB memory stick to the Nexus 7. Since Android 3.1 the OS had supported USB host mode where you can connect USB devices (keyboards, mice, memory sticks or USB drives) and Android would recognize and use them. My tablet supports it and I have seen video of The Galaxy S III supporting it using a USB to Micro USB adapter like this: http://www.buy.com/p...llerid=11491539.

I would bet the the Nexus 7 has the same host support. It isn’t elegant as a built in SD card reader, but with an external card reader, it would be possible to add external storage.

How hard would it have been for them to include an upgradable microSD card slot like they do for their phones?

Thanks for the feedback and I am hoping you are right. I agree with no-control and they should have included a MicroSD slot. I would be happy with being able to attach any storage for the occasional use. I really do not like external cards and prefer adequate internal storage that the OS can see. I have avoided cards even in devices that used them.

I always enjoy Tim's informational "Sermon's" and thought it was too bad his "spots" aren't indexed (maybe they are) for an excellent startup quick study for folks.

Of course the overall show was great (as always) -- Michael's perspective is spot on IMHO about the Surface --

We never got into the enhanced feed and indexing due to extra post processing. Something I might want to do in the future though.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback and I am hoping you are right.

The latest that I have heard on the micro usb port is that it will have 'host mode' to support keyboards, mice and other devices, but it will not support mounting drive devices like memory sticks. There is hope that the developer community may fix this since Nexus devices are very hack-able and unlocked from the start.

The reasoning that I have heard it that android doesn't include a 'file manager', so why include the ability to mount a drive if there isn't a "elegant" way to manage the contents of the drive.

I think it is a poor excuse, or there may be a legal reason with all of the law suits that are flying around.

What would be great is if they took all the sermons out of the podcasts and created an audio library of just Tim's sermons. That might be Nirvana!

Mike, I just wanted to let you know you don't have a full house. All you have is a pair of Michaels and a Tim. Good thing that isn't your poker hand because it wouldn't be worth much. :)

what these forums lack is a really good search facility. That way, the number of forums wouldn't matter near as much.

If at first you don't succeed, do it like your mother told you.
