Ships in about 3 weeks. Looks like a competitor to the Kindle Fire more than anything else.

Could not resist though. I needed a small tablet for work so I pre-ordered one. Will post my impression when I get it.

Looks like it kicks the Kindle Fire's a$$! No doubt a 10" is coming soon after this one. Just hope MS is smart enough to make sure at least one of their devices is SHIPPING by Thanksgiving.

Not sure these are competing in the exact same space. Hoping the Surface is a bit more powerful and flexible than the Nexus. I am looking forward to playing around withe the Nexus but the end game is a still a more flexible tablet. The nexus will be a great reader/email/internet device but I want more from a tablet for the long run.
