I want to know the Policy for signature in this forum like words use in the signature or links allowed. If you have any thing related to signature please share with me.

Thanks for asking, and welcome to the forums.

Interesting. We have no policy that I can find. I know we've discussed it. Thought there was something in writing. No matter, we'll come up with one.

Meanwhile, I'll give you this. We are a tech forum. We talk about and buy a lot of hardware, and we are constantly pointing folks to good deals. Having said that, we are not about people coming in here for the sole purpose of advertising some product or site. If you are associated with Dealaboo, you should say so and tell us something about it. Who knows, it may be the next Amazon or Newegg. Or, it might be the next site to avoid like the plague. Also, avoid shortened/munged URLs. People like to know what they are clicking on. And leave off with political or religious references. I don't have to tell you how that leads to trouble 100% of the time.

So until we put something down in writing, please let this be your guide.

Yeah. I would hate to see signatures be abused for blatant advertising or to expound some personal political or religious point of view.

Just to add. You will find links in some members signatures. These are really at the discretion of the moderators and adminstrators. If you are unsure about something it is better to be up front and ask one of the mods. We try to keep our forums clean of any user that is here only to promote themself or their business and not provide back to our community.

Since your signature now contains no other information other than a link to Dealaboo I would question the value to the HomeServerShow community in allowing it to remain.

Agreed with the actions of admin CSKenney. It's an unwritten forum rule everywhere that you don't drop an advertising link anywhere when your new to a forum. If your a vendor you simply contact the forum owner and work it out. We have vendor labels available to those who wish to post as a vendor. Having said that, I'll get together a better policy on sigs. No harm, no foul.
