Question: Why is it that in my new install of WHS2011; the media Library is NOT refreshing? in the Pictures directory no pictures show, yet in the folder I have thousands of pictures?

I access my WHS2011 via web access and look at the media Library and it shows 0 pictures, yet the directory is full of pictures? How do I fix this?

Thank you for the help.

The shared folder should be part of the Libraries in explorer, to see it in Media Library, not just in a shared folder.

I had this issue about a year ago and had to do the following

Stop the "windows media player network sharing service" Rename the "currentdatabase_" file in C:\Users\MediaStreamingAdmin\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player

Start the "windows media player network sharing service"

Restart your server

this will rebuild the database file

I also had the issue about a year ago and mine was resolved by upgrading my AV program which somehow was preventing the media from showing.

Folks,

For the record, none of the above worked for me... I finally gave in and re-installed. Now it's working perfectly and I finally have it all reconfigured with the add-ins etc.. All is well. Well almost. I still feel that 2011 is lacking on some flexibility that I have been able to get on my V1 version of WHS. But that's another thread.

Again thank you for the help.

I also had this issue a while back, and it took a reinstall to straighten it out.

I now have 2011 installed on my EX495. I'll have to check if it refreshes the media. But so far, I've been able to remote in from work and see the files. The mobile view on my phone is actually pretty nice.
