Swapped all the sticks in various combinations of slots, no difference. I took the Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM and put it into my new ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe mobo, and it worked flawlessly. Really fast, to be honest, but that's another story.
At this point I am starting to believe that the board is indeed crippled.
Main Server - WHS 2011, Core I5-2500, 12T RAID 5 (5x3T) + 2T of Mirror + 2T of backup
Second Server - 2008R2, Core I5-2500, 12T RAID 5
Main Systems - Core I7-2600k, 16 Gigs DDR3-1600, 180 Gig Intel 330 SSD Max IOPS 240 Gig Vertex 3, 2T Sata 3 for local Backup
Other systems - Core I7-2600, Core I3-530's, Core I5-2500, Core I7-920, Core I3-2100, and G620 (see System List)

Yeah. Really. What's left to try? If they give you a hard time, point them to this thread
If you bought the board at a local store, I guess you could do the old 'buy another one and return the dud in the new box' trick

if it's a board that has a serial # right on it, yeah, it's a problem, but it seems a lot still only have it on the box.
