I would gladly give up some download speed for more upload speed.

unRAID server 18.5TB
WSS-2011 5TB internal + 4x3TB RAID 5 Mediasonic USB 3.0 external storage
Hyper-V server running 10 VM's(AMD 6 core with 16gig of ram - Raid 5 & Raid 0, plus USB 3 Mediasonic 4 drive enclosure)
pfSense & Untangle (aka, SUPER ROUTER) running as seperate machines
Broadcast server - broadcast the jpeg2RAW podcast - AMD 8 core 4Ghz, 8gig DDR3 1600, RAID 0

Guess I will continue with my 60/35 fios connection. On the plus side my 5505 asa is rocking along.

Well this is what happens wen you buy your house when your single, care about the schools no, close to shopping nah. Great bandwidth lets look at the models.

Ten years ago I would have not thought about it, but my next house I sure will.

and we will all be in it! We jsut bought a new house and the first question I asked was, "high speed internet?" Of course......second question, "which cable company?" My, my aren't we picky!

I now have total bandwidth envy.......


I have a 20/1.5 pipe. It makes me (and crashplan) cry on a regular basis. On the other hand, I've gotten pretty good with FreeBSD QoS.

Wasn't this a router thread?
I'm still on pfSense but it's a beta version. Tried Untangle but DHCP died on it so i swapped it. Can anyone tell me if you can get some lovely bandwidth reports from Untangle? Like a live view? DHCP reservations have to be better in UT than pF right?
Maybe it's time to do a UT and pF show.

My UT box has been running with DHCP Server enabled for several years. It's never given me any trouble. Not sure why it would give you headaches.

AFAIK, UT does not have live bandwidth monitoring. You can certainly get bandwidth usage reports though.
