Do I need to apply the jumper to a WD20EARX drive similar to an EARS drive.
WHS V1 seemed to identify it OK and I added it to my storage pool and it all seemed to work fine.
I don't want any corruptions though so tyhought I would ask.
Yes, the WD20EARX is an advanced format drive and requires jumpering before it's added to the pool -- if you want to use it as a system drive you will have to use the Acronis Alignment tool from Western Digital -- see
here.
Read thru the attached articles but buttom line I believe is if you've already installed it as a pool drive you'll need to uninstall it from the pool before taking it out and adding the jumper.
If you don't do anything I believe it'll work but it will work much slower than what your used to.
