Do I need to apply the jumper to a WD20EARX drive similar to an EARS drive.
WHS V1 seemed to identify it OK and I added it to my storage pool and it all seemed to work fine.
I don't want any corruptions though so tyhought I would ask.

OP system on OCZ Vertex 4 120GB, a vertex 3 60GB for Video editing (source), 2 OCZ Vertex 2 120GB drives in Raid 0 for video editing (output), Sata 3 Seagate Barracuda XT 2TB HDD, XFX Radeon HD6850. Yes, the WD20EARX is an advanced format drive and requires jumpering before it's added to the pool -- if you want to use it as a system drive you will have to use the Acronis Alignment tool from Western Digital -- see here.
Read thru the attached articles but buttom line I believe is if you've already installed it as a pool drive you'll need to uninstall it from the pool before taking it out and adding the jumper.
If you don't do anything I believe it'll work but it will work much slower than what your used to.

OK Thanks Jo, I have removed it from the pool, now if I can just find a jumper in my odds and sods box....feels like going back in time :-)

Just look for 1 on one of your old 1992 Ethernet NICs
