Great news!
About a week ago, I managed to get a stable array after having gotten a second driver update. Having now run it for some time and restarted the whole server a couple of times confirmation has been established.
Apparently, I had found an error that they had to re-create and found were unknown to the RR 2750A-card.
They concluded that there was a data leak in the driver while handling large 3TB disks under RAID environment. That caused the array to become unstable, and in combination with the old BIOS, the system to crashes during power cycle and update failure as well.
However, I still have a very puzzling "error" of sorts.
The indicator lights are at a constant red, regardless of HDD activity and status. This however is a "glitch" I can live with for now.
One word of caution.
The installer for the HP RR-2760A driver is not working properly, at least I had this problem, causing the booth of the server OS to fail. In my case I had to reinstall the server OS in order to get the driver installed correctly.
However, as noted this could be a problem that I, having blank spaces in my skill set, could not solve in a more efficient manner.
