Hey everyone, quick question...

Is there an Add-in (or any way) for WHS v1 to turn on a PC so that a backup can be run and turn it off when it is done. Or even if the PC can be turned off after the backup is complete that would be fine too.

I know that there are Add-ins that can turn on a PC remotely, but I haven't quite seen exactly what I am looking for.

Thanks,
John

Perfect timing for this question as we went over Lights Out on show 139. One thing we didn't touch on was the ability to load a client on the computers in your network. You can then manage their power up state. Try it free for 30 days. http://homeserversoftware.com for WHS 2011

OK, if the whs2011 does this too (and I can't imagine why it wouldn't) then it has some possibilities; just shutting down the whs itself is not much value to me.

If at first you don't succeed, do it like your mother told you.
