I posted this on the blog a while back and wonder if it would be a good idea for an Add-In.

Google Analytics for WHS

The Add-In could have a simple settings option to paste in your Analytics code and it would do the HTML mod for you. See the blog post for more detail.

I'm not finished with this yet but here's a draft version for you to try out. Paste the DLL in your Home Server Programs folder and run it from the console. I haven't cleaned it up and made it look good, but it should let you enter your Analytics code form the settings tab and then it'll track users after they have logged into your remote site.

I will update the final code into an installer sometime this week.

Cool, I'll do this tonight and let you know how it goes. I'm pretty sure I don't have it loaded on my 510 right now so hopefully will see stats after 24 hours.

I finally got everything straightened out with my Live account, DLink DIR-655 router, Vail test server, and my x510 v1 WHS. I loaded up the .dll as you said and put my analytics code in the box and I can now see the stats in my Google Analytics account. Very cool!
I didn't test it very deeply but it recorded a hit on my main page and the login. Thanks for writing that up! What now?

Next steps would be an icon (got one already) and also setting up the tracking on the main page before login. Then I would wrap it up in an MSI so people can install it like any other addin. Addin would be dedicated to homeservershow and we could do a tutorial as part of the development guide I got underway for the forums. Sound like a plan?

Sounds like a plan. I guess we have to start an Add-In section now! ;)
