Just a small update I've replaced the mATX mobo in my recent HTPC build in favor of a mITX board I had laying around from a BYOB review. The GigaByte H55n-USB3 is installed and in perfect working order. Here are some updated pictures. Not the best but it conveys the idea.

A little bit of RAM cooling, too. Nice.

Any suggestions on a PSU instead of the CX400w; considering the Seasonic X SS400. It's an 80+ modular fanless. I'm a fan (no pun intended) of Corsair PSUs, since they are usually just cheaper Seasonics. This one got an Editors Choice review from SilentPC Review, and is highly rated by NewEgg users. Only drawback I see it price, but I don't mind spending on PSUs or cases.

Also, why the mobo switch? For the USB3, or...? Not sure why going with mITX instead of mATX is better if mATX will fit the case. Basically - if you were buying today which would you choose?

THe PS you picked appears to have great revies and I have used and like Seasonic before. You can get the corsairs on sale sometimes for about the same or you can use the cooler master modulars for a bit less.

I used the same board and proc for my HTPC. I can put it in and out of sleep no problem. And it stays asleep until I toggle it on with the Harmony. It was randomly waking, but I solved that by telling the network adapter to only wake when there's a magic packet.

So was there a reason for the motherboard switch other than the USB3? If a mATX fits is it any worse a choice than a mITX?

I had bought the mITX for a SFF gaming build. It never happened but I needed the mATX board for a server build. So in went the ITX out came the mATX (which is now my server). USB3 wasn't a factor. mATX would be a better choice just due to ease of access the mITX with the ginormous cooler is really hard to work with.
