Bits From CES

Here is a few things I ran into this morning I thought were interesting.  Certainly not mainstream stuff which is already well covered but interesting none the less.  Great show this year and it was great to finally meet everyone.

Great little device that connects to your android or iPhone and displays radar guns as well as cameras.

3D HD still shots.  Viewable on the an a 3D TV or can be sent out for 3D prints.

Awesome new laptop from Samsung.  Same thickness as the Apple air and extremely fast.  Bad picture but in person it is awesome.  Tried to get more pictures but they would not let take any.

Cool new service called Miicassa (http://www.miiicasa.com/).  Allows you to access, stream, and share your content.  Turns your own storage into cloud storage.  Service is free and is ad supported.

This a cool new device from D-link.  It seems to be fairly fast, but the cool thing is that has “folder Cloning” if not used in RAID, built in word press so you can do you own blogs, DLNA, local back up, and Remote backup to another device off site.  Setting up two of them allows synching between and off site and local unit.

This device is from Raidon and sports 5×2.5 inch drives with build in controller and can be configured in Raid 0,1,5, and 6.

This is a different model that uses two different internal controllers.  One to mirror two 2.5 inch drives for the OS, and 4 additional 3.5 inch devices that are in a RAID 5 configuration.  Just strap on two sata cables and some power and you are good to go.  Very nice unit.

Here some very large and very well designed CPU heat sinks.  The craftsmanship of these units was amazing.
