AutoExit author creates new Add-In AdminiMe
The author of the popular Add-In AutoExit 2009 is at it again. This time his creation is called AdminiMe 2010. The title lends itself to the function of the Add-In which is a beefed up admin console for your Windows Home Server.
The feature list of this Add-In is very long. It monitors, alerts, logs, and runs. That sentence alone does not do justice for the many features of it. Here is the feature list that Nick from ASoft sent me.
Multilingual UI (supports German, French, Japanese).
A console that shows a lot of information:
CPU Usage (in total or per processor)
Upload & Download speed of the network traffic
Memory usage
Total Disk usage
Current Time
System Uptime
Longest Uptime
Total Uptime
# of starts, First start, Last start
Detailed information on the storage (activity, temperature, disk space)
All the files that have sessions open by users
The logging of all events that occurred
Ability to create shortcuts to applications
Shortcuts to important system tools: Event Viewer, Performance Monitor, Task Manager
Remote desktop
Run box (like the Run dialog functionality in the Windows Menu)
Automatically shut down the server when no clients are connected
Send a mail in case of problems
Monitoring:
CPU (monitors the average usage over a certain amount of time)
Memory (Memory usage)
Harddisks (Disk space monitoring, disk temperature monitoring)
System Event Log (Problems reported in the Event Viewer are monitored)
WHS Events (Warning / Errors)
Failed Remote Access
Attempts System (warns if the system has been running non-stop for x amount of days, improper shutdown)
You can see by the screen shots that there is a lot to this Add-In. I particularly like the shortcut ability, the Run command line, and the shortcuts to event viewer, task manager, etc.
Another thing I like about this Add-In is the fact that Nick has decided to charge for it. To get full functionality it’s going to cost $8.00, 800 Yen, or 8Euro. Some may not like the fact that you have to pay so there is a free version but it will have a nag upon clicking the Add-In and it will not E-Mail alerts. I think this is a small price to pay for a good Add-In and for someone who has given so much to the Windows Home Server community.
If you are an early adopter there is a discount for you. For a limited time get AdminiMe for $6, 6Euro, or 600 Yen. Great deal! Go now and get it!
